It was a long development in the commercial theater sound. During the first two decades of film presentation, a piano, organ, orchestras, sound effects man, or dialogue between actors included the reading of his films. Electronic Sound published in 1926, with the coming of “talkies”. Have been the scene of cable for sound, and a large set of speakers may be behind the middle of the screen it all. This was the single era. Then, the stereo came in 1940 with left and right. Sound-channels were in the 1950s. (Somewhere in the east, a center channel was added for dialogue and for the middle of the screen.) Finally, the surround sound came on the scene in the 1980s in different acoustic versions of the Hall challenges of communication. (The arrival of DVD affordable surround sound on our Home Cinema.)
Home Cinema Sound can be one of the following approaches commercial cinema, or can, in addition to new levels of realism and impact of Sonic.
An important difference between cinema and home entertainment is that the film must be acceptable to a (hopefully) large group of people sitting in each situation of a large room. In contrast, a home theater, in general, much smaller group of people sitting in a very limited part of the movie theater at home.
The small size of the listening / watching in a home cinema can work to the benefit of owners of home theater because of the nature of sound reproduction.
